Rushey Green School has a school council and each November, classes from Year 2 to Year 6 vote for two class representatives to attend the meetings for that academic year. The Council then meets on a fortnightly, to discuss any key issues.
Items on the agenda at the School Council include school dinners, the playground, behaviour, after school clubs and class trips. Other topics are discussed as and when they arise. Children are given the opportunity to contribute to school policies and have recently given their ideas to enrich the curriculum.
The School Councillors take the information and communicate it to the children in their class and bring any feedback or ideas to the next meeting.
