PSHE at Rushey Green Primary School - The Jigsaw Approach
At our school, we use the Jigsaw programme to support children’s Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education. This places every child at the heart of learning, helping them to develop the social, emotional and life skills they need to thrive both in school and beyond.
Jigsaw is a whole-school approach, meaning that learning about relationships, wellbeing and resilience is woven into all aspects of school life - not just taught in weekly lessons. Through engaging activities, assemblies and shared language, children build confidence, emotional awareness and positive relationships with others.
The programme is carefully structured and age-appropriate, supporting children to understand their feelings, manage challenges and develop healthy attitudes. It also meets all statutory requirements for Relationships and Health Education.
By nurturing children’s wellbeing alongside their academic learning, we aim to help every child feel safe, valued and ready to succeed.
